Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) involves intrusive thoughts, ideas or images (obsessions) and/or repetitive, intentional rituals (compulsions) that cause marked distress or interference in a person's life. OCD affects approximately 1 in 200 children. Symptoms in children may differ from those in adults.
The Pediatric Anxiety Research Clinic at the Bradley Hasbro Children's Research Center in Providence, RI, is affiliated with The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
